Why do you recommend superfood smoothies?

My biggest challenge when helping clients change their eating habits is convenience. I want to promote healthy smoothies as a “fast food” option with tons of nutrition.

What is your greatest success story in helping another person get healthy?

I was working with a woman who was pre-diabetic, severely overweight and depressed because six months before I met her, she was in a car accident that killed her husband. Over a three year period of time, she dropped 70 lbs. and brought all her blood markers back in line. She is a happy, thriving woman.

What are your credentials?

My original degree is in Sports Medicine and I have been a Personal Trainer for 32 years. 5 Years ago, I added the Nutritional Therapy Association’s certification that greatly improved results for my clients.

Who do you admire most and why?

Nora Gedgaudas because her first book, Primal Body, Primal Mind completely changed my life. It was a thrill to meet her as this recent conference.

What is your passion?

I have several. Health and helping others obtain it has always been my huge journey. I love to garden and have an awesome greenhouse that allows me to garden at 9500 feet elevation. The most important, is playing in this life with my husband of 37 years!

What first motivated you to pursue a healthier, cleaner diet?

Would you believe Jane Fonda??

If you had to choose one, what would be your favorite fruit and favorite vegetable and why?

Cherries because I craved them when I was going through a health crisis. Cabbage because it tastes great with bacon!

What type of physical activities do you participate in and why?

Bikram’s Yoga because it helps me stay flexible and relaxed. Hiking because I live in Colorado and I would be crazy not to be out there!

What advice would you give to someone who is considering making positive changes to their diet, exercise regimen, or lifestyle in general?

Become aware of your body, it is giving us clues constantly. Learn what is working for your individual constitution.

Anything else important we should know about you or that you wanted to mention?

I consider myself a detective and cheerleader in my work and when the partnership clicks with my client, we can move mountains!
