If you have Pain, Avoid these Foods
If you are serious about wanting to reduce or eliminate you pain, you must get rid of the foods that are contributing to the cause.
Imagine that you have a sliver of wood in your finger, the will stay there until the sliver is removed. The same thing happens with food. If a food is causing or contributing to the pain, it must be removed from your diet to get rid of the underlying cause.
Sugar
Sugar cause your body to release cytokines, which are inflammatory messengers. This increases pain and can make chronic pain a lot worse.
Aspartame
Aspartame is an artificial sweetener. It is classified as an excitotoxin, which means it activates neurons that can increase your sensitivity to pain.
MSG
Monosodium glutamate (MSG) is a flavor enhancing food additive. It is commonly in Asian food, soy sauce, soups, fast food, deli meats and salad dressings. You need to check the label before you purchase. MSG triggers chronic inflammation, which makes chronic pain worse.
Caffeine
If you have trouble sleeping, your pain levels will be increased. You may need to avoid caffeine to sleep better. Many of my patients made a switch from coffee to tea and that improved their sleep.
Also try these two products to help sleep.
Sleep Rejuvenator: Take 1 dose 30 minutes before bed.
MG-Zyme: Take 3 capsules 30 minutes before bed on empty stomach.
Trans Fats
These are man-altered fats that trigger inflammation, which increases symptoms. They are commonly found in processed snack foods, frozen breakfast products, cookies, donuts, crackers and most stick margarines.
Refined Carbohydrates
These are flour products such as bread, rolls and crackers. They stimulate the release of advanced glycation end (AGE) products, which stimulate inflammation and cause symptoms to appear.
Omega 6 Fatty Acids
These are important fatty acids, however people usually eat too many omega 6’s and eat too few omega 3’s. This imbalance causes inflammation, which increases pain. Common foods with high omega 6’s are oils such as corn, grapeseed, peanut, safflower, soy and vegetable. Try eliminating these for one month and see if there is improvement..
Nightshade vegetables
Sometimes these vegetables can trigger symptoms: tomatoes, potatoes and eggplant. Try eliminating these for one month and see if there is improvement.
Dairy products
Sometimes dairy products, especially milk, can increase pain. Try eliminating these for one month and see if there is improvement.
Gluten
Sometimes gluten can increase pain. Try eliminating these for one month and see if there is improvement.
Alcohol
Sometimes alcohol can trigger symptoms. Try eliminating these for one month and see if there is improvement.
